The alarm panel which is widely seen installed at conning position is for the use of sending distress messages and demonstrating incoming distress alerts through audio or visible indication.
A small plastic cover protects each button from accidental activation. Furthermore each button must be pressed between three and six seconds to activate the distress alert.
This alarm panel is available between 10.8 and 32 V DC.
Please be aware that a distress button can be found on some Mini C GMDSS systems.
The SAILOR 6103 is an upgrade of the 6101, and it enables the user to send distress alerts through Inmarsat C, and also distress calls through VHF and MF/HF. Therefore this alarm panel is also named a multi alarm panel.
