A rectifier converts an alternating current (AC) to a direct current (DC). RU-1746B-2 is a single phase rectifier that converts and alternating current (AC) voltage of of100/110/115/220/230V applied at it input terminals to 24V direct current voltage and 16 Amperes direct current.
Rectifier Unit RU-1746B-2 needs to be installed needs to be installed in a dry, place that is well-ventilated. This is to protect it from moisture and the ventilation is to allow for cooling. It is used as an alternative power supply to the Processor Unit, RPU-013.
This rectifier is mandatory for a system that is set to operate using a DC power supply but is instead connected to an AC power supply. Similarly, just like rectifier RU-3424, RU-1746B-2 has a provision for altering the internal connection of the rectifier using jumper wires accordingly depending on input voltage supplied at its input terminals since it has a wide and varying range of input voltage can be supplied to its input.
