  • Description

Bridge Navigational Watch Alarm System (BNWAS) JCX-152 is an automated security system to monitor bridge activity and detect operator disability which could lead to marine accidents. The module monitors the awareness of the Officer on the Watch and automatically alerts the master or another qualified officer on watch if for any reason the officer on duty becomes incapable of performing the his duties. This is achieved through a mix of alarms and indications which alert backup officers as well as the Master. BNWAS warnings are given in the case of incapacity of the watch keeping officer due to accident, sickness or in the event of a security breach, e.g. piracy and/or hijacking. Unless decided by the Master only, the BNWAS shall remain operational at all times. The master can define a pre-set interval within which, the officer has to acknowledge the probe otherwise visual and audible alarms in the wheelhouse and other crew spaces will go off.

It consists of a main control unit, an assistive touchscreen LCD display, buzzer and pushbuttons (waterproof). The system monitors the motion of the duty officer in the bridge and detects any unsafe condition that may lead to a marine accident.

    • A 4.3 inch LCD touch-screen offers an interactive and assistive display.
    • The module can be directly powered by 100V to 220V AC (main), or in case of power outage a backup 24V DC can be supplied through batteries.
    • When dormant interval has been completed and no confirmation is received warning alarm is generated.
    • Supported with emergency call function and bridge alarm transfer function.
    • The dormant period can be reset within 15s after the visual indication starts. This reset feature is also equipped in the LED display unit.
    • With the help of Automatic reset devices (NYG-4), human presence can be detected by a motion sensor and the dormant period can be automatically reset.
    • The system status can be logged into Voyage Data recorder (S-VDR) by contact output.
